About This Show

Drawn from writer/performer Lan Tran’s own Vietnamese-Texan upbringing in the 1970’s, How to Unravel Your Family crosses the potent memories of an Old World activist father with the escapades of his starry-eyes Texan daughter as it explores the rocky terrain of their relationship. Presented in humorous sketches, the piece includes Tran’s intimate experiences with Alzheimer’s, and the daily grind of working as a temp employee. The result is an unexpected performance that moves through history, across borders, and towards the reconciliation of a multicultural heritage into an American story.

Part of Double Helix Theatre Company’s One Festival.
