Hits The Fan is written and directed by Johnny Alspaugh. World premiere. This play captures the alternating malaise and excitement of Southern California family life (“dysfunction in paradise”). The same day his wife Clarice and transsexual son Kaylie left him because of his intolerable behavior, Carl has an encounter with Mofuku Mmembe, a Ugandan exchange student in a host home. Drunk and rambling, Carl receives help from Mofuku and other people and is forced to confront his insecurity issues and embark on the journey of reconnecting with his family.
