Black Pride NYC, Inc. presents a very special theatrical experience entitled Happy Birthday Madam Alberta, written and directed by Robert Jason Jackson. This dramatic yet amusing play chronicles turning
points in the lives of five friends who gather to celebrate the birthday of one of New York City’s legendary transsexual drag performers, Madam Alberta.
All goes well until the Diva insists on playing a game of truth or dare. The closet door is opened and out comes issues such as male to female transformation, machismo, bisexuality, lesbian love affairs, celibacy
and male to female HIV transmission. Most of all the play is about friendship.
