About This Show

Hallelujah Breakdown is a farcical coming out/coming of age story told in a Brighton Beach Memoirs-esque style. The story takes place in the early 1970s and focuses on an adolescent who becomes a born-again Christian in an attempt to catch the fancy of an Adonis of an aspiring evangelist. His parents block out his clear homosexuality and prefer to ostracize him more for his speaking in tongues. After seeking the approval of the church, two fanatical religious women, his gay uncle priest, and his father, he ultimately realizes that the only person whose approval he needs is his own.

There is no performance on Sunday, January 19.
