New York City
Four-time Emmy Award-winner William Electric Black adapts Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein into a rock musical. It’s Shelley’s real story, sympathtic toward the soulless monster who, abandoned by Victor Frankenstein, seeks revenge by killing off the doctor’s family one by one. As in the book, the story is told by a Sea Captain who rescued Dr. Frankenstein from an ice flow and, in letters to his sister, detailed the strange story. Even Mary Shelley is present in the play, watching and overseeing the musical, leading us through the tale as it unfolds.
Final performance: December 7, 2024
