About This Show

Brainiac comedian Emily Levine takes science personally – and makes it very funny. She’s been using EST audiences for the past two months as her live laboratory and her one-woman show is now primed to take you on an explosive, thought-provoking and hilarious ride through several paradigm shifts: from Newton’s rational universe through quantum physics, chaos and complexity theory. You’ll never feel the same way about phase transitions again and you’ll finally understand how WIMPs can be action heroes. You’ll also learn what drove Emily’s discovery process: how a rare medical condition called "acromegaly" created a bizarre set of symptoms: loss of balance; cognitive dissonance; and a compulsion to grow beyond her natural limits. When a veteran comedy writer uses scientific research as a route to personal discovery, the result is not just wildly entertaining but frequently moving. Emily worked with EST science adviser and physicist Gabriel Cwilich to authenticate and enrich the scientific content of her show.
