Dinner and Sex Upstairs is a new play by award-winning playwright Gregory Paul Thomas, directed by Rebeka Avendano for the Dotted Elk Theatre Company. Taking place in The Bronx in the 1990s, the play focuses around domestic violence, broken homes and teen pregnancy and the cyclical patterns these issues can carve on generations of families. The play treads the line between realistically gritty and tragically funny, giving us a unique, simultaneous insight into a world that is too often seen through only one-side of the looking glass: either from the outside looking in or from the inside trying to get out.
