Written, directed, and designed by Eileen Connolly. Dance and aerial choreography by Sean Roschman. World premiere. Daughter of the Waves is a romantic drama about a traveling theater troupe and a ragtag band of damaged souls from Europe camping on an Irish beach during WWII. While fearing an imminent Nazi invasion, they discover that while the casualties of war and the sorrows of life can crush you, only love can save you. The play is based on the true story of Jewish refugees smuggled into neutral Ireland during WWII, where many joined the country’s circuses and traveling shows and changed the art form forever.
