About This Show

How could a man risk his life in search of freedom — yet refuse to embrace his son expressing that freedom?

A man jailed for expressing political dissent with his writing escapes his native land and flees to the U.S. Years later his teenage son — on fire to express himself — delivers a controversial newsletter he writes to his neighborhood. The community in an uproar, father orders son to stop the paper ‘until the waters calm.’ His son refuses, and the waves created take the family under. What rises to the surface won’t wash away like scribbles in the sand…

No matter how far you’ve traveled in life, your greatest journey may be reaching out across your kitchen table…
