Columbia, the Germ of the Ocean

Columbia, the Germ of the Ocean is a historical travesty by Trav S.D. This politically incorrect burlesque was written in 1992 on the occasion of the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Columbus’ first voyage to the Americas. Stereotypes (including those of Europeans) are sent up in true vaudevillian fashion with dialect humor, opera parody, slapstick, and wordplay in this screwball retelling of Columbus’ four voyages of exploration to the “New” World.
