About This Show

This adaptation of Antony and Cleopatra, one of Shakespeare’s greatest and most tragic love stories, is made accessible to modern audiences by exploring the nature of human relationships and all its various aspects of love, jealousy, betrayal, uncertainty and tragedy. The three main characters-Antony, Cleopatra and Octavius Caesar-are all commanding political leaders whose power and passion are also reflected in their personal lives. But as even the strongest nations can be vulnerable, so can these seemingly extraordinary and infallible people. Adapted and directed by Jerry Less.

Critics called last year’s Henry IV “a dynamic interpretation that is both easy to understand and enjoyable to watch.” Due to its sold-out run and creative success, the WorkShop presents a special production of Antony and Cleopatra from the same team. Passion clashes with politics in a fresh new telling of one of Shakespeare’s most popular love stories.
