In her premiere evening-length performance at Danspace Project, Antonietta Vicario exalts collective group experiences and sensual performance environments, creating a work that straddles commonplace and sublime. Our togetherness places four women inside the inspired space of performance, simultaneously defining and deconstructing what it means to be “embodied” and to “perform presence.”
Performers/collaborators Julie Alexander, Nicole Mannarino, Sandy Tillet, and Vicario excavate concepts of identity, vulnerability and sensuality in this real-time transmission of body energy between audience and performer. Our Togetherness features lighting design by Carol Mullins and music by collaborating composer Bradley Kemp and an ensemble of five musicians.
