About This Show

QED Productions presents the world premiere of co-Artistic Director
Zander Teller’s new translation of Jean Anouilh’s Antigone.
Eight years in the making, this new translation is Teller’s labor of
love. Teller, who is bilingual (French/English), brings a personal flavor to the production, focusing on the existential notes and the philosophical questions raised within the play.

While one can draw parallels between Anouilh’s urge to produce Antigone during the Vichy regime
in 1944 France and today’s anxious political environment, Teller uses a wider lens, keeping true to QED’s mission: to create smart, engaging theatre for a sophisticated audience; theatre that asks hard questions, presents emotional and intellectual challenges, and always entertains.
