About This Show

AN EROTIC AND SERIO-COMIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE MIND OF AMERICA’S PREMIERE SCIENTIST OF SEX

The New York Theatre Collective presents Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story by Mike Folie at the Michael Weller Theatre, 311 West 43rd Street (6th Floor). This new play is directed by Craig J. George with Scenic Design by Sarah Lambert; Costume Design by Irma Escobar; Lighting Design by Richard Tatum, Projection Design by Shaun Fillion and Sound Design by Mark Goodloe.

Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story is a highly theatrical and fictionalized biography that places Kinsey’s own erotic voyage under examination; revealing the raw, hot emotions that often hide beneath his seemingly cold search for scientific knowledge. Through the wreckage of his memories and hallucinatory fragments, the play dissects the unreliability of objective truth and lays bare one man’s obsessive fascination with sex and sexual orientation. This comic and erotic search for the truth through his subjects’ sex lives ultimately leads him full circle to shattering discoveries about himself.
