“RIVETING… Spirals into the dark terrors of the human heart” — Village Voice
Timothy Nolan’s Acts of Contrition is the story of four clerics who over the course of one day reveal the wickedness that pervades today’s Catholic Church. Acts of Contrition is a profound drama that graphically exposes the abuses that challenge and threaten the very future of faith. Hideous secrets, long-kept, threaten the very pillars of the priesthood. Three young maverick priests are out to change the face of ministry. What begins as a peaceful summer beach retreat turns into a fight for their souls. While The Cardinal haunts their actions past and present, faith, friendship and seal of the confessional are put to rest.
Part of the New York International Fringe Festival, a production of The Present Company.
