2001: A GAY Odyssey, this year’s 2nd Annual Gay Pride staged series, shows the odyssey of gay dramatic characters and their interaction with the gay and straight world. Featured plays include:

Jeffrey
by Paul Rudnick, directed by Beth Greenberg
Tues.& Wed June 12 & 13, 2001 at 8pm
This comedy depicts the plight of a gay man looking for a relationship in an AIDS era which discourages commitment. Featuring a Cats chorine, a Gay Pride march, Mother Teresa, a new age guru AND a Broadway style Hoe-Down production number.

The Normal Heart
by Larry Kramer, directed by V.P. Boyle
Fri. & Sat. June 15 & 16, 2001 at 8pm
A dramatic historic tale and love story, of one man sounding the alarm to a world unwilling to listen. Set in the
early days of the AIDS epidemic.

The Ritz
by Terrence McNally, directed by Douglas Leland
Mon.& Tues. June 18 & 19, 2001 at 8pm
A screwball comedy of mistaken identities, multiple doors, boys in towels and mayhem in a gay New York City bath
house in the early 70’s and the denizens that inhabit “The Ritz”.

A New Brain
by William Finn & James Lapine, directed and choreographed Baayork Lee
Fri. & Sat. June 22 & 23, 2001 at 8pm
A gay musical theatre composer is stricken by a brain anomaly, as his dramatic life and the characters in his
problematic world, collide. 1st New York Revival.

A portion of the proceeds will go to 2 local charities serving the Gay/Lesbian and Transgender Community including St. Clements Episcopal Church, New York City’s oldest church serving the Gay Community and The Actors Fund of America.
