About This Show

Valhalla is a hilarious new play by Paul Rudnick that intertwines the worlds of two young men, King Ludwig II, The Mad King of Bavaria, and James Avery, a sexually precocious 1940’s youth from Gainesville, Texas. As Ludwig searches for a life of operatic beauty, his aesthetic passions are redoubled through James, whose obsessions target a young man and his fiancee. This show is a uproarious examination of passionate and highly strung individuals incapable of censoring their more hallucinatory urges. Christopher Ashley directs.
