About This Show

The Liar is a 17th-century farce of mistaken identity and secrets. The charming Dorante cannot tell the truth, while his manservant cannot lie.

Adapted by Tony nominee David Ives (Venus in Fur) from a play by Pierre Corneille, The Liar is the sixth production in a collaboration between Ives and Classic Stage Company, a group dedicated to reimagining classic stories for contemporary audiences. Michael Kahn (Showboat), another Tony nominee and member of the American Theatre Hall of Fame, directs.
