Ann Duquesnay (Tony Award-winning actress for Bring in Da Noise/Bring in Da Funk) stars in this new musical about an emancipated slave who goes in search of his wife following the Civil War. John Henry Redwood wrote the book, with music by Daryl Waters and lyrics by Redwood and Waters. Hope Clarke directs and choreographs the production, which receives its world premiere as the inaugral production in the New 42nd Street’s Duke Theater. The musical’s title, The In-Gathering, comes from the expression used by African-Americans after the Civil War to describe their attempts to reunite families split up by slavery.
