This is the final phase of Fly-by-Night’s two-year project inspired by Amelia Earhart and other early aviators. Performances feature floor-to-ceiling dance accompanied by Ken Pierson’s piano and percussion score played live and Fred Hatt’s video projections that include the use of aerial cameras, allowing the audience to view the world from within, above, and below the trapeze. Emotionally the work portrays Earhart’s fearlessness (one solo is done blindfolded), and the passion of early aviators to put themselves in the air at all costs.
