About the Show

New York Philharmonic presents staged concert performances of the Alan Jay Lerner-Frederick Loewe musical masterpiece My Fair Lady. The production stars Kelli O’Hara, Kelsey Grammer, Charles Kimbrough, Brian Dennehy, Marni Nixon and Tim Jerome. Award-winning Broadway conductor Rob Fischer leads the performances.

Adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s 1912 play and Gabrial Pascal’s motion picture, Pygmalion, the musical sports songs such as “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly,” “With a Little Bit of Luck,” “The Rain in Spain,” “I Could Have Danced All Night,” and “On the Street Where You Live.” The story follows a Cockney flower girl who is trained by a bachelor linguistics expert to speak proper English in six months’ time as part of a daring challenge.

The original 1956 Broadway production of the musical starred Rex Harrison, Julie Andrews, and Stanley Holloway. It has had three Broadway revivals, in 1976, 1981, and 1993.
