About This Show

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents Miss Julie, by August Strindberg. Adapted by renowned playwright Craig Lucas, (The Light in the Piazza, Prelude to a Kiss, Reckless) and based on a literal translation by director Anders Cato, this scintillating psycho-sexual pas de deux between the unstable daughter of a count and his ambitious and virile footman, is often ranked as one of the best naturalistic dramas ever written. The new adaptation has much to say about the contemporary world.

The cast includes: Marin Hinkle, Reg Rogers, and Julia Gibson.

Anders Cato’s staging of this Strindberg classic makes the sexuality of the piece overt, yet there’s less passion here than might be expected.
