New York City
Madama Fortuna, by young playwright Antonio Rodriguez, is a sprawling, picaresque political satire in two parts. The first is set in an anarchic, post-traumatic Brooklyn in the year 2033. Four squatters hiding out in an abandoned library discover a sack that contains a remarkable young girl, Mary. Mary’s Oz-like journey to find her mother takes her to Pax Fortuna and its matriarch, Madama Fortuna. The sixty person cast (yes, sixty) is headed by Elizabeth Bove (as Madama Fortuna) Drew Cortese, Aundre Chin, Jenny Penny Curry, Frederick Silo Gunsch, Luke Miller and Dalia Farmer.
Presented by Dixon Place and Chashama.
