About This Show

La Fiesta del Chivo (The Feast of the Goat) tells the story of General Rafael Leonidas Trujillo, “The Goat” himself who subdued the Dominican Republic in a cruel dictatorship from 1930-1961. The story is told by Urania, a New York lawyer whose father was part of Trujillo’s Ministry, who returns to the Dominican Republic after 35 years; by the band of conspirators who plan his assassination, and through the thoughts of the dictator himself. Adapted by Jorge Ali Triana and Veronica Triana from the novel by Mario Vargas-Llosas.
