New York City
“A New York success story, possibly the country’s most innovative contemporary ballet troupe,” proclaims The New York Times about Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, whose Joyce season features works by three of today’s most influential dance creators. Iconic choreographer and former Nederlands Dans Theater Artistic Director Ji?í Kylián opens the program with Indigo Rose, a dazzling showcase for the risk-taking Cedar Lake dancers. Crystal Pite, the Frankfurt-based Canadian choreographer, follows with Ten Duets on a Theme of Rescue, and to conclude the evening, the company presents a New York premiere by provocative Greek choreographer Andonis Foniadakis.
