New York City
With her classically trained lyric soprano voice and her unbridled enthusiasm, singer Moira Danis has fashioned a string of unique, tuneful cabaret shows over the past few years — one touching on the joys of youth (First Childhood), another exploring the varied facets and delights of Latin music (Double Rainbow). These efforts prompted one critic to write that Moira presented “an hour of cozy comfort, charming tunes and fine vocals.”
Now, Moira brings a brand new show to Danny’s Skylight Room Cabaret, her first appearance at this fine music room on 46th Street’s Restaurant Row. In collaboration with music director Wells Hanley and director Frank Fontana, Moira will present a program entitled I Wish It So — a collection of songs that tell of wishes, hopes and desires. It promises to be a wonderful spring afternoon of music from Broadway to jazz club to classical concert hall, all performed with style, sophistication and heart.
