About This Show

Louise Setara may be only 18, but she’s always been musically mature, singing as a toddler, and making her stage debut at age 7. The singer, of Irish-Brit-Brazilian-Gypsy heritage, celebrates the release of her Manhattan records debut, Still Waters, featuring an intriguing blend of old school soul numbers and earthy, emotion-laden gospel, along with youthful, angsty, self-penned originals. With a bold, precocious confidence, Setara demonstrates a range and emotional depth that belies her youth–from the bold, bursting “Can’t Stop The River,” which Seal wrote for the singer, to the hushed melancholy of the 1920s gem “Circle.” Setara’s multiple Grammy award-winning producer and mixer Jay Newland (who has worked with Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and Norah Jones amongst others) says, “Louise has a maturity in her voice that most singers spend a lifetime acquiring.”
