About the Show
It’s been 84 years ... or 25 years, since April 1999, when 6-year-old Alice was finally allowed to watch a recorded-from-HBO VHS of the 1997 James Cameron classic
Titanic. Since then, Alice has gone through various stages of "
Titanic-Panic" ranging from watching it every day to making it a defining part of her personality to editing down her own version that runs at a mere one hour and 45 minutes (but with the same emotional gravitas! She swears!)—culminating in this solo reenactment of the timeless story of Jack and Rose, in which she plays all the parts and the scenes are selected at random. In this one-woman show about how childhood obsessions shape who we are as adults and the ever-persistent battle between nostalgia, the poor aging of '90s media, and claims of boats too big to sink, you'll laugh, you’ll cry, your heart will go on (even though Jack’s does not)!
