TheaterMania.com and Musical Writers’ Playground are the sponsors for their second annual new musicals production, DownBeat II. This all-star industry event features Broadway talent performing 20-minute readings from the diverse musical works of five hot, new writing teams. The readings include:

I Know What You’re Thinking – A comedy about a man whose life changes when he discovers he can read people’s minds. (music) by Seth Weinstein, (book & lyrics) by Jon Karp.
The King of Bombay – A young boy on his own braves life on the streets of Bombay in a tale of hope and redemption. (music & lyrics) by Joe O’Keefe, (book) by Steve Schaeffer.
Where the Lilies Bloom – Four Appalachian siblings struggle to remain together by keeping the death of their father a secret. (book & lyrics) by DJ Salisbury, (music) by Alexander Constantine.
