About This Show

* At The Laurie Beechman Theatre Doors Open 1-Hour Prior to Show Start time, whenever possible.

Having returned to Manhattan after years in San Francisco, sultry, sophisticated singer, Diane D’Angelo makes her Laurie Beechman Theatre debut to launch her new show “Destination Moon”.

With a classical background, D’Angelo easily crossed over to the cabaret stage with her lush interpretations of the American Popular Songbook a few decades ago, and will be doing it, yet again, with the Gregory Toroian Trio. With arrangements by Toroian, Christopher Denny, Tedd Firth, and Chicago’s Beckie Menzie, “Destination Moon” is about this singers lust for life through the music of Sammy Cahn/Jimmy Van Heusen, Carolyn Leigh/Cy Coleman, Charles Strouse/Lee Adams, Tommy Wolf Fran Landesman, Cole Porter, George & Ira Gershwin, Frank Loesser, Rick Jensen, David Yazbek, Michel LeGrand and Alan & Marilyn Bergman.

Having sung for two former U.S. Presidents, being on the soundtrack for The Godfather III, a guest singer with the San Diego Comic Opera, the San Francisco Symphony, the World Expo in Shanghai, the Playa at the Burning Man Festival and on the Greek island of Mykonos, D’Angelo was prime to take on her own solo shows with her unique, warm and exciting spin on songs she knows and loves and ones she’s gathered from the world she adores.

From her earlier days in NYC at Arci’s Place, The Waldorf Astoria and the Firebird, to her time on the West Coast at Feinstein’s at the Nikko and more recently at 54 Below, Diane has moved back “home” but is clearly…taking off again with “Destination Moon!”
