City of Ladies is a new play by Lorraine Liscio, directed by Myriam Cyr, about Christine de Pizan, one of Europe’s earliest professional women writers. Set amid political upheaval in medieval France, the play explores authorship, power, war, and the fight over whose stories are remembered. A shorter version was previously presented at The Cloisters’ Medieval Play Festival. This production marks the play’s world premiere at Theater for the New City’s Dream Up Festival.
