Brown Rane is a threat on many levels, combining her skills as a singer, songwriter, musician, and composer. She draws inspiration from the likes of Nina Simone, Mary J Blige, Earth Wind and Fire, Whitney Houston, Prince, and Jill Scott. Her sound is an amalgamation of R&B, soul, jazz, pop, funk, rock and hip-hop in one sandwich. Brown Rane has been performing since the age of ten and as a freshman in college Brown Rane toured with a dynamic group of singers, mc’s, and poets called the "Cataclysm" from Hunter College. She has performed solo at several regional venues, including Gregory’s, 5 Spot Soul Food Restaurant, Remote Lounge, Cheetah Club, and Carmichaels’ Underground Jazz Club. As an actress, she has appeared in the play "Corn Bread and Roti". Brown Rane has had the opportunity to work with many talented artists (Yanni, A. E Henry) and production teams (Ozone Music Productions, Diesel Music, and Nu Soundz "Alliance"). Brown Rane also composes poetry.
