Coming Fall 2027: the 50th Anniversary Broadway production of Annie.
Since opening on Broadway in 1977, Annie has become more than a hit show—it is part of the cultural fabric of America. Featuring one of the most celebrated scores in Broadway history, the musical has been seen by tens of millions worldwide, translated into dozens of languages, adapted for film and television, and embraced across generations.
This landmark new production will be directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton(Oh, Mary!; The Rocky Horror Show), whose visionary theatrical storytelling and celebrated work on Broadway and off have established him as one of the leading directors of his generation. Under Pinkleton’s direction, Annie will retain the heart, optimism, and timeless spirit that have made it a cultural touchstone, while offering a fresh theatrical perspective for a new generation of theatergoers.
Annie has music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and a book by Thomas Meehan.
