Broadway Sings the Phone Book

About This Show

Demonstrating the popular expression “I’d listen to ‘so-and-so” sing the phone book,” a fun array of Broadway stars have been lined up to sing their trademark songs… with the lyrics replaced either mad lib style or with names from pages ripped randomly from the phone book. A third performance option includes a variation of the title where performances are crafted with words from pages ripped from a dictionary. Broadway Sings the Phone Book is being performed with proceeds going towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York, which serves the five boroughs of New York City and Nassau County, Long Island has granted more than 6,400 wishes since its creation in 1983. In fiscal year 2006, the chapter granted 471 wishes and hosted another 204 children from Make-A-Wish chapters around the world whose wishes involved travel to New York City. This equates to one wish every 13 hours making Metro New York one of the most active chapters in the 69 chapter national network.
