About This Show

The theatre community kicks-off Pride month with Broadway Backwards: Songs of Survival and Love, a one-night-only, star-studded Broadway concert benefiting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York City.

Broadway Backwards features an evening of Broadway’s showtunes… with a twist. Ever wondered what it would be like to hear three sexy Broadway guys sing “Ya Gotta Have a Gimmick” from Gypsy? Or one of Broadway’s most appealing leading ladies singing “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face?” from My Fair Lady. Or two handsome leading men singing “We Kiss in the Shadow?” from The King and I. Broadway Backwards tackles gender reversed songs of musical theatre.

Scheduled to appear: Cheyenne Jackson, Karen Mason, Michelle Blakely, Kathryn Kendall, Michael McElroy, Harvey Evans, Andrea Burns, Lee Roy Reams, Julie Wilson, and Charles Busch.

Hosted by Seth Rudetsky, with direction by Robert Bartley, and musicaldDirection by Michael Lavine.
