The ASCAP / MAC Songwriter’s Showcase offers cabaret and theatre songwriters the opportunity to present new material before an audience of publishers and other songwriters. The new format features three songwriters, in addition to the appearance of a special guest. Each songwriter performs three songs – instead of the previous one song per writer approach of past showcases – which enable the audience of industry tastemakers to experience a more in-depth feel for their songwriting style.
The featured songwriters are: Deborah Abramson, Jeff Blumenkrantz and Pete Mills. The special guest is Tony, Emmy and Edgar Award-winning composer, lyricist and author Rupert Holmes.
Mr. Holmes’ eclectic, stellar career credits include The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Remember WENN, Where The Truth Lies, as well as the hit pop song “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)” and many other writing and producing achievements.
