New York City
A Little Night Music
$25.00 - $100.00
Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music takes place on a Swedish country estate in the summer at the turn of the twentieth century. Love and sex are on everyone’s mind when a middle-aged attorney, his teenaged bride, and his beautiful, world-weary former lover gather for the weekend. Joining them are her jealous current lover, his wife, assorted family members, and servants. The players couple, uncouple, and ponder the meaning of it all from vastly different perspectives of age, sex, and social position. New York City Opera reunites much of the creative team from its 1991 production, including director Scott Ellis and choreographer Susan Stroman, for a 15-performance run starring Claire Bloom, Michele Pawk, Jeremy Irons, Marc Kudisch, and Juliet Stevenson.
