About This Show

Sought after New Orleans bassist and music educator Brian Quezergue is the son of legendary late composer and arranger Wardell Quezergue. Having grown up learning from his father on countless gigs and as a graduate of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Southern University and University of New Orleans music programs, Brian has played with icons such as Alvin Batiste, Kidd Jordan, Dr. John, The Wild Magnolias, and The Wardell Quezergue Orchestra.

For more than a decade, he has been influencing young students as a music teacher in New Orleans public schools and summer camps, continuing to lift the bass guitar from its lowly-perceived position as a secondary or background instrument to a more prominent and respected one in the minds and psyche of music lovers and aficionados alike.
Tonight, he presents his Quintet, featuring
Brian Quezergue – bass
Ricky Sebastian – drums
Zack Knewstub – piano
Stephen Gladney – saxophone
Yolanda Robinson – vocals
