New York City
A New Jersey premiere by Lee Blessing. (co-production with Playwrights Theatre of NJ).
Whores is a provocative new play about a dictator who is accused of unspeakable acts. Inspired by a true story, Blessing sets this fictitious account in the fantasy world of a General from an unnamed Central American country who has been granted political asylum in the United States. The play is an examination of moral and political issues and of America’s culpability in creating an environment that breeds corruption and violence.
