About the Show

The funny, poignant tale of Charity Hope Valentine comes to Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre when Pierrot Productions presents Sweet Charity.

Taken from a book by Neil Simon, with music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, Sweet Charity affectionately chronicles the misadventures of a dance hall hostess who always gives her heart – and her earnings – to the wrong man. Despite her trials, Charity never falters in her search for true love and a decent life. Fourteen classic songs, including “If My Friends Could See Me Now,” “Big Spender” and “Baby, Dream Your Dream,” will have the audience singing along as Charity laughs and cries her way through hard times.
