New York City
In 1898, a poet seeks Ambrose Bierce’s advice on how to be a better writer, and learns a great deal more. Bierce, who worked for William Randolph Hearst, among other publishers, was known as “the wickedest man in San Francisco” because he pursued the truth no matter who was the target of his journalist wit and humor. Nothing Matters is a fully staged Actors’ Equity production that was filmed with three cameras, and edited in September 2020. Written by Dave Geible, it stars Broadway actor James Rana, with Gayle Stahlhuth, who also directed.
