About This Show

True or false: Any two people in the world can be connected through only six other people. John Guare’s examination of the threads of chance that link one person to another (inspired by a true story) follows the trail of a young black con man, who insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy New York family, claiming he is the son of actor Sidney Poitier. As the con unravels and lies are revealed, they discover that he may have gave far more than he took. A fast, dense and wildly imaginative contemporary dramedy, Six Degrees of Separation was winner of the 1993 Olivier Award and NY Drama Circle Critics Award for best play.
