New York City
The Barn Theatre presents Side Show book & lyrics by Bill Russell; music by Henry Krieger. The musical is based upon the true story of Daisy and Violet Hilton, identical twins joined at the hip who performed in carnival sideshows and crossed over into vaudeville in the 1920’s and 30’s. Examining what it means to be different, what is normal, the story is delivered by music that critics proclaimed “smart, witty, melodic,” and with such songs as “Who Will Love Me As I Am,” “You Should Be Loved” and ” I Will Never Leave You,” capable of soaring emotional heights. Jonathan Wentz directs, with musical direction by Eric Johnston.
