Bloomfield-based New Jersey Tap Ensemble unveils the world premiere of a new work,: “First Stop on the “A Train”: A Celebration of Black Artists in Tap.” Dancers recreate the explosive energy associated with performances ranging from the Harlem Renaissance through to the powerful force of today’s tap dancers on Broadway and movies. Through narrative and rhythm tap dance, NJTAP explores and celebrates the contributions of African American artists from the street corner to the stage and screen.
