The Shape of Things

Adam, a dweeby English major moonlighting as a security guard in the campus museum, encounters Evelyn, an eccentric art student. The two hit it off and are quickly steeped in a world of young romance. All too soon, at Evelyn?s request, Adam begins to change – his hairstyle is updated, he begins to exercise and lose weight, his glasses are replaced with contacts, and designer labels replace generic clothing. Neil LaBute’s The Shape of Things offers up some surprising revelations, romantic cynicism and the uncertainties of trust and betrayal, bringing into question the value of art, the desire for fame, the true nature of friendship, and just how far one should be willing to go for love.
