Hedda Gabler is the story of a proud, ambitious and magnificently manipulative woman. Unfortunately, her options in 1890 are limited. She is boxed in psychologically and socially by conventions of the time – and a tedious marriage to a self-satisfied scholar. Is Hedda looking for love? For affirmation?
