In 1862, an English widow, Anna Leonowens and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok to serve as tutor to the King’s many children and wives. The King is considered to be a barbarian and seeks Anna’s assistance in changing his image. Anna and the King grow to understand and respect one another, in a truly unique love story. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I is one of the all-time marvels of the musical stage.
