About This Show

DONNA MOORE TO BALANCE SONGS AND LIFE-STORIES AT JIMMY TINGLE’S

Fresh from sold-out performances in January and last September at Don’t Tell Mama in New York City, singer-actress Donna Moore is bringing her cabaret act, The Balancing Act: Laughing and Singing through Life, to Jimmy Tingle’s Off Broadway Theater. Ms. Moore interprets jazz-inflected songs that appeal to lovers of great popular music and tells witty autobiographical stories that will resonate with over-scheduled parents, singles and anyone who is embarking on their own multi-tasking journey.

The Balancing Act showcases Ms. Moore’s gifts for singing, acting and story-telling. With veteran Broadway music arranger Arnie Gross on keyboards, Ms. Moore interprets great standards from the American Song Book. Among them, three by Harold Arlen: “Old Devil Moon,” “Stormy Weather” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”; Rogers and Hart’s “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered”; Erroll Garner’s “Misty”; and Carole King’s “Way Over Yonder.” She also reprises offbeat songs like “It’s an Art,” an artful piece of social criticism from the Broadway musical Working.

The Balancing Act is produced, directed and choreographed by Carter Timmins Boyajian, a performance artist and designer.
