Broadway veterans Beth Fowler and George Merritt close out Good Theater’s 5th anniversary season with Driving Miss Daisy, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Alfred Urhy. Joining Fowler and Merritt is local actor Michael Kimball, playing the role of Miss Daisy’s son, Boolie. Fowler has received two Tony Award nominations (Best Actress for a revival of Sweeney Todd, and Best Featured Actress for playing Hugh Jackman’s mother in The Boy From Oz) and has been featured in 12 Broadway shows. Merritt has been a regular performer in Maine with appearances at Good Theater (Broadway at the St. Lawrence), Portland Symphony Orchestra (Magic of Christmas) and Portland Stage Company (The Member of the Wedding). He has starred in a number of Broadway shows including Jekyll & Hyde, Big River, Ain’t Misbehavin’, and Porgy and Bess. In addition, Merritt received a Drama Desk Award nomination for the revival of Lost in the Stars.

In addition to the regular schedule, a 3:00 matinee performance of Driving Miss Daisy is arranged for Saturday, June 2.
