About the Show

A Chorus Line is the story of dancers who put their lives on the line and tell why they do what they do for love, and a celebration of the chorus dancer who contributes so much to a production and receives so little glory.

With music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban, A Chorus Line contains songs in its score that have become standards in arenas far outside of musical theatre. Songs like “At the Ballet” which entangles the lives of three female dancers and tells how they coped with loneliness and rejection; “Nothing” which describes one girl’s determination to prove to an acting teacher that she does have talent and the ballad “What I Did For Love” which states why these dancers do what they do, all combine to create a poignant experience.
